UBC has many unique spaces that can easily help you achieve your digital media goals. Some can be found on the second floor of the Commons building while others can be found in the Library.


The Commons

Digital Design Lab

The Digital Design Lab in COM205 is a quiet place for any media work. Some of the software in the D.D.L. includes the Adobe Creative Suite, and Unity.

COM 205A Sound Booth

The COM 205A sound booth hasĀ  professional microphones and a broadcast standard mixer and has been used for podcasting, interviews, webinars, and music.

Sawchuk Family Theatre

Located on level one of the Commons in COM 104, the Sawchuk Family Theatre is a public and bookable space that gives the user access to a 16 screen video wall.

The Visual and Emerging Media Studio (VEMS)

VEMS is a dynamic space in COM 107 featuring Canada’s highest resolution, three-dimensional, VR-ready video wall.

Studio123

With user friendly software and equipment already set up, Studio123 is a great place to record an audio track or video with high quality visuals and sound.
