The Commons
The Commons Service Hub
Right in the second floor of the Commons (COM203 and 204), the service hub is available to help you with you with your specific project. Here you can find:
- Technicians on hand to answer any questions
- Studio space for UBC Studios interviews
- Equipment for your borrowing needs
The Service Hub is open Tuesdays to Fridays from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Digital Design Lab – COM 205
The Digital Design Lab (COM205) offers a quiet place to edit your project with technical support close by. Stop by and use the latest in professional editing software while being able to consult with UBC Studios staff at the service window. Some of the features of COM 205 include:
- 14 iMac computers
- The COM 205A sound booth
- Use of the Adobe Creative Suite
The Digital Design Lab is open Mondays to Fridays from 9 AM to 4 PM. The COM 205A sound booth can be booked during these same hours, either by using the button below or the catalogue at the bottom of this page.
Sawchuk Family Theatre
Located on level 1 of the Commons, the Sawchuk Family Theatre (COM104) is a public and bookable space that gives the user access to a 16 screen video wall.

- User-friendly touch interface controls
- Stereo sound system
- Dual wireless microphone

Studio123
With user friendly software and equipment already set up, Studio123 is a great place to record an audio track or video with high quality visuals and sound.
